Lake Cardigan

2603043434_16b90d47c1_s With Easter approaching, I had been searching for a cute cardigan for Jocelyn to wear…not just for the holiday, but one that could be worn to school as well. Ravelry came through for me again! Browsing through, I found a free pattern from Lion Brand yarns for the Fresh Picked Color 3/4 sleeve cardigan and cast on Wednesday night. I grabbed Lion Brand Cotton-ease in “Lake” from my stash ~ a very pretty color.

I also dug out the buttons from my stash, as well. I had picked them up months ago – more of an impulse buy at the time. I figured I would tuck them away and use them with just the right project. This cardigan only takes one button, and I think it will look great with this color. The buttons are vintage La Mode…a replica of circa 1900-1919 buttons.

New books came in the mail Wednesday too! I had ordered the new T.C. Boyle novel “The Women” – I absolutely cannot put it down, and it’s actually painful to have to stop reading to go do dishes or fold laundry. lol. The story is based on the love life of Frank Lloyd Wright..his marriages and mistresses amidst his home and work. Boyle has a great writing style and that makes the book hard to close.

I also received “Water for Elephants” – a novel I swapped for over at Swaptree.com. I have been wanting to read this one for a while, and plan to start it after I finish The Women.

Weather is warming up and they say it should be in the 60′s this weekend!

Have a great day!

Too Cool Tuesday

Good Morning all! I hope everyone is keeping warm today. I’m happy to say that here in Connecticut we are officially shoveled out. A foot of snow has put a damper on my anticipation of spring…but I know that it’s just around the corner.

On the homefront, I have to tell you that our cat Pepper had her kittens last Wednesday!      picture-224
