Among my many jobs and titles, I am a mom of 3, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a knitter, and a stasher of yarn. I created this blog to record my knitting triumphs and defeats, additions to my stash, patterns I love and cant’ wait to start, and on and on.
I taught myself to knit about two years ago from a book and have knitted daily ever since. My history with yarn had been with crochet – everything from tons upon tons of crochet cupcakes and teacups for my daughter’s tea parties to amigurumi animals for my son to granny square and ripple afghans.

I also dabbled for a long while in mixed media art, selling successfully at local shows.

Then I had the epiphany one day to grab a pair straights and a skein of yarn. I kept at it and voila – I had a dark purple garter stitch scarf that I was pretty darned proud of. lol. From there, I was hooked.
My blog address has the names of my two great grandmothers, Delina and Louise; both amazing knitters and crocheters in their own right. My earliest memories of great grandma Louise as a child was watching the stacks of granny squares pile up on the arm of her chair while my sister and I watched the Sound of Music or played with her stash of paper dolls that she kept just for our visits.
Memere (Delina) was a crocheter – everything from baby booties and ripple afghans to bed dolls. I remember her pattern books and yarn always kept in a basket next to the sofa.
Amazing what memories you have of yarn – even as a child.
So, I hope that you find this blog somewhat interesting as I blog about everything related to what I have on the needles at the moment to my ‘treasure hunting’ finds, to my pattern loves.
Please comment! Don’t be shy! I’d love to meet you all!
